There’s no doubt about it the Tourism Industry has copped a beating the last few years. From Bushfires to floods and the dreaded Pandemic, there’s a lot to bounce back from.
As restrictions start to ease and Summer holidays around the corner we’ve come up with a few little ways on how we can do our bit to help the tourism industry.
Book Accommodation Direct: Rather then booking through a third party website, Book your holiday directly through them by either phoning or using their website. This way there is no commission or fees taken on bookings.
Book in advance and pay upfront or a deposit: We get now mightn’t be the best time to jet away, but if your dreaming of a getaway why not book ahead and pay upfront. Not only do you have something to look forward to but you can feel smug as by being super organised.
Buy gift vouchers as presents: Silly season is fast approaching, why not buy gift vouchers as presents this year. Think a getaway, buy someone their coffee for a year, what about a fancy dinner. You’d be amazed at how resilient these businesses have become and could no doubt tailor something to your needs. Corporate Businesses, ahem this would a good one for you guys too HINT HINT!!!
Use Tourism Vouchers: Most state and territory governments have released some sort of tourism voucher for those industries doing it tough. So got out and use them if there available to you.
Share your experience: There’s nothing quite like word of mouth, so make sure you share your experience and adventures. Follow the places you’ve been on social media, tag them in your photos, take the time and write reviews.
We know there’s loads more we can do to support each other as we venture from these unprecedented (how many times have we heard that word in the last 18months) times. Comment below if you have any other tips you’d like to share. Lastly, remember to share the love, be kind and be safe. Over and out, Elyse
